Throughout the ages, storytellers have been an integral part of society. Perhaps now more than ever before, we are surrounded by stories in the music, shows, films and watercooler chatter that are all so easily accessible and readily available. But why are storytellers so important? What do their tall tales do for us?

Stories inspire us, move us to thought and action - make us feel and give us pause. Stories educate us with facts and observations and cloud our minds with fantastic dreams. Stories let us forget how hard we've been struggling, and remind us what we've struggled so hard for. Stories deepen the listener's understanding of human nature and the human condition through the expression of ideas and values. It is through discussion and introspection that stories help us to develop an awareness and an appreciation for social, cultural, aesthetic and intellectual issues, and stories illustrate for us, often imaginatively, how these are all relevant to our every day lives.

  • AUTHOR: Condensed that mass of information using *tada* TABS! Now you can view by section (without navigating away from the page): Published Works, Testimonials, In the News, and Unpublished Works! Huzzah for progress! It only took me all night! Of course, I streamlined the content slightly as I made my updates. All minor things.
