Paul Nandzik, Editor
"My bottom line is always to make the best possible suggestions to improve my clients' literary works and skills."

Paul is a 2004 English graduate from SUNY Fredonia, a former journalist, a published author and a former tutor.

Paul possesses a wide range of knowledge and experience, allowing him to work extensively on a variety of topics.

ABOUT THE EDITOR

Capitalizing on all my years of training and experience, I draw on a broad range of knowledge and good judgment in editing all submitted works with the two-fold goal of improving the work and improving the author's abilities. Most commonly, this involves enforcing the proper format for that particular medium of writing, reducing or eliminating grammatical errors and maintaining a sense of style and coherency throughout.

Additionally, I include explanations about why I'm making particular suggestions, allowing my clients to understand where I'm coming from, and to allow them the opportunity to better understand how to improve both the creative and technical aspects of their writing and/or storytelling.

WORK EXPERIENCE

I am an experienced journalist and photojournalist, having written articles for the magazine M.D. News and the newspaper In Good Health, as well as having interned at the e-zine M.A.P. Madrid as their copyeditor. I am also a former tutor and a published author (Adirondack Mysteries and Other Mountain Tales, Twombly McGreen vs. The Mean Steam Machine).

I have edited scripts (short film, feature film, graphic novel/comic), lyrics/poems, short stories, novels, essays, resumes, cover letters, advertisements (brochures, flyers, etc.), training manuals and employee handbooks.

VALUES

I hold myself to a high standard of professionalism and strong ethics. I strive to protect your privacy and the integrity of your intellectual property. The work you submit to me is and shall always be your own, and will never be shared with a third party for any reason whatsoever without your prior approval.

LIMITATIONS

Editors cannot guarantee the success of your work, of course, but they can do their best to make your work more palatable to publishers and readers. Editors also very rarely liaison between a writer and a publishing company (that's what literary agents are for). The best that we editors can do is recommend that you do your due diligence on whatever publishing company you have in mind. At the very least, make sure you understand and follow the format and other guidelines they outline, that your work is in the correct genre that they publish, etc.
